The .ai version of your logo is meant for use within Adobe Illustrator, the program in which it was created. This is the full, vectorized version of your logo, which can be resized (larger or smaller)
without any loss in detail or added pixelization. If you choose to have your logo printed on any
physical materials (clothing, albums, stamps, signs, banners, etc), the printer will likely ask you
for the .ai file.
These files do not have a background layer, so they can be opened in Adobe Photoshop and Canva and placed
directly over an image, with the image still visible underneath. This is great if you want to use your
logo as a watermark, just drag it over your image and position it where it needs to go. We recommend
creating a solid layer at a reduced opacity below the graphic for better clarity and readability.
The .svg file is what you’ll use when you upload your logo to your Showit site. That’s most likely
the only thing you’ll ever need to use it for! It’s pretty similar to the PNG file, but it can be made
larger or smaller without any pixelation or reduction in quality.
For your logo, you will receive three different types of files: .ai, .png, and .svg. These files are specific to different programs and are each created for a specific purpose, explained in detail below. If you need additional file types, or need to match certain sizing specifications, please don’t hesitate to ask!
